Bio


Ana C. Traversa is an independent artist, born in Patagonia, Argentina.

She has exhibited in the United States, as well as worldwide, in museums, private organizations and / or state popularity, many of which already have about almost 100 years between them is important to note: New York Public Library, New York, Lincoln Center, New York, French National Academy, France, NY Historical Society , MOMA, Museum of Modern Art, N.Y., International Center of Photography, N.Y., University of Virginia, Prospect Lefters Gardens, Brooklyn, Museum of Mayan Culture, Museum of Tihosuco and Museum of Bacalar, Mexico, Cultural Center Puerto Varas, Chile, Recoleta Cultural Center, Buenos Aires, National Museum of Oriental Art, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

She graduated in Painting at the Manuel Belgrano School of Art and Sculpture at the Art School Prilidiano Pueyrredón in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In 2019 her work was awarded by the Legislature of the Province of Rio Negro, Argentina, and was declared of Cultural and Social Interest.

In 2019, she exhibited paintings in Sala Frey, San C. Bariloche, Argentina.

In 2016, she was presented in the NYPL of Bloomingdale, N.Y. with her Individual exhibition and workshop.

In 1990 to 2016 she exposed individual and permanent sculptures and paintings at the headquarters of the Río Negro Journal
in Buenos Aires (Founded 1912) in Argentina.


During 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010 and 2009 she collaborated with New York Public Library, Hamilton Grange Branch, New York with her Solo Exhibitions.

In 2011 she was awarded by the Legislature of the Río Negro Province, Argentina; her work has been declared as Educational and Cultural Heritage.

In 2002, she was awarded the Silver Medal “Arts Sciences and Letters” for her work, the highest honor given to an artist in France
by the Academy of Arts founded in 1905.

During 1999-2000 the exhibition traveled to the United States universities including: Virginia University,VA, Lawrence University in Appleton, WI. and Keystone College , La Plumme,PA.

In highlighting that in 1996, she had instructed 225 students of art in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

For about 20 years Ana Traversa continues to collaborate voluntarily with her art in New York and the five neighborhoods surrounding the city.

Ana Traversa has favored with her art (for over 30 years) including museums such as private and public organizations in different countries,
and nongovernmental and nonprofit organizations.

She has also collaborated wholeheartedly with the public and private education, volunteering with organizations dedicated to art
and healing, in hospitals, organizations dedicated to treating AIDS/HIV and other entities.




Nació en Argentina, es artista independiente, y ha expuesto en Estados Unidos, como así también en el extranjero en Museos, Organizaciones privadas y/o estatales de renombre muchas de las cuales ya tienen aproximadamente casi 100 años, entre ellas es importante mencionar: New York Public Library, New York, Lincoln Center, New York, Academia Nacional de Francia, Francia, Sociedad Histórica de N.Y., MOMA, Museo de Arte Moderno, N.Y., Centro Internacional de Fotografía , N.Y., Universidad de Virginia, Prospect Lefters Gardens, Brooklyn, Museos de la Cultura Maya, Bacalar y Museo de Tihosuco, México, Centro Cultural Puerto Varas, Chile, Centro Cultural Recoleta, Bs. As., Museo Nacional de Arte Oriental, Bs.As., Argentina.

Es egresada en Pintura en la Escuela de Arte Manuel Belgrano y en Escultura en la Escuela de Arte Prilidiano Pueyrredón en Buenos Aires, Argentina.

En 2019 su obra es galardonada por la Legislatura de la Pcia de Rio Negro, Argentina y declarada de Cultural y Social Interes.

En 2019 expuso pinturas en Sala Frey, San C. Bariloche, Argentina.

Durante 2016 exhibió Individualmente Pinturas y Dibujos en NYPL, Bloomingdale, en New York, asimismo dictó un taller de arte
en dicha institución.


Desde 1990 a 2016 expone individual y permanentemente sus esculturas y pinturas en la sede del Diario Río Negro en Capital Federal.
(Fundado en 1912) en Argentina.


Durante 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, y 2009, colabaró con New York Public Library, Hamilton Grange Branch, New York con sus Exhibiciones Individuales.

Durante 2011 su obra es Galardonada y declarada Patrimonio Educativo y Cultural por la Legislatura Provincial de la Provincia
de Rio Negro, Argentina.


En el año 2002 es galardonada por su labor con la medalla de plata ” Artes Ciencias y Letras”, máximo honor que se otorga a
un artista en Francia mediante La academia de las Artes fundada en 1905.

Durante 1999-2000 su exhibición viaja por Universidades de Estados Unidos entre ellas caben destacar: Virginia University, VA, Lawrence University en Appleton, WI y Keystone College en La Plumme, PA.

Cabe destacar que en el año 1996 instruye a 225 estudiantes de arte en Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Desde hace aproximadamente 20 años Ana Traversa continúa colaborando voluntariamente con su arte en New York como en
los cinco barrios aledaños a esta ciudad.

Ana Traversa ha favorecido con su arte (por más de 30 años) incluidos Museos como Organizaciones Privadas y Públicas en diferentes países, no gubernamentales y también organizaciones sin fines de lucro.

También ha colaborado incondicionalmente con la Educación Pública como Privada; Trabajando como voluntaria con organizaciones dedicadas al arte y la sanción (Healing), en hospitales, organizaciones dedicadas a tratar el H.I.V. y otras entidades.
